South Korean shipping company HMM has taken delivery of a new Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) with a capacity of 10,800 vehicles, making it the largest of its kind in the world.
The vessel was built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (CSSC) in cooperation with CSSC Trading.
The design was developed by the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, featuring modern technical and environmental solutions.
Key specifications include:
- length — 230 meters
- beam — 40 meters
- draft — 10.5 meters
- speed — up to 19 knots
The vessel is equipped with a dual-fuel LNG propulsion system and complies with IMO Tier III emission standards, ensuring improved environmental performance and energy efficiency.
With 14 decks, the carrier can transport a wide range of vehicles, including electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered cars, and heavy trucks.
Following delivery, the vessel will be operated by Hyundai Logistics Co., Ltd..
