The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 local time as the vessel was preparing to discharge fertilizer cargo at Pier 202 in Ujung Baru. Thick smoke quickly spread across the area, causing panic among dock workers.
Emergency response teams from the port operator were immediately dispatched to the scene, supported by two tugboats and local firefighting units.
