Vietnamese authorities reported that the fishing vessel QNg-95157 TS became disabled in the South China Sea, approximately 100 nautical miles east-northeast of Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The vessel had departed on 3 March for a squid fishing trip. During the night of 5 March, the boat suffered an engine failure, leaving it without propulsion and drifting at sea. Due to severe weather and rough sea conditions, the crew issued a distress signal.
Authorities said the vessel continued drifting for several days. On 9 March, a patrol vessel arrived at the location to assist the stranded fishing boat and its crew.
The rescue operation was successfully completed on 10 March, when the vessel was towed back to the port of Nha Trang.
All 34 crew members on board were reported safe and unharmed, according to Vietnamese officials.
