Vertom has welcomed its newest cargo vessel, Vertom Quina, into the fleet during a naming ceremony held on 21 November in Kampen, the Netherlands. The vessel is the tenth in a series of diesel-electric ships ordered by the company.
Vertom Quina was built at Royal T Shipyard in Kampen and sails under the Dutch flag. Key specifications include:
-
Length: 118.6 metres
-
Beam: 14.30 metres
-
Cargo hold volume: 329,700 cubic feet
The vessel is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system, delivering significant fuel savings and reduced emissions compared to conventional designs. It is the tenth unit in Vertom’s LABRAX series of 10 vessels and, like its sister ships, has been designed with future conversion to alternative fuels in mind.
Before delivery at the end of this year, Vertom Quina will undergo final outfitting and completion works at Royal T Shipyard in Kampen, after which it will enter service within the Vertom fleet.
