A floating crane overturned during operations at a shipyard in Sevastopol’s Southern Bay, leading to the deaths of two workers and injuring more than 20 others. All injured personnel have received medical assistance.
Emergency response teams and technical specialists have launched an investigation into the accident, inspecting the site and equipment to determine what caused the crane to capsize. Authorities are reviewing whether proper safety procedures were followed during the operation.
According to the shipyard’s management, the crane experienced an unexpected malfunction that resulted in the accident. The company expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and stated it would provide financial and social support to both the injured workers and their relatives.
The organization also emphasized its commitment to fully support the investigation, ensure transparency, and implement measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
