🇳🇴Norway is building a zero-emission cruise ship
⚡️Hurtigruten, together with SINTEF researchers, is developing an innovative cruise ship, Sea Zero, that will run on clean energy. The liner will have three retractable 50-meter sails with solar panels, 60 MW batteries and “smart” cabins.☀️
🛳The ship, which is planned to be launched in 2030, will be able to carry 500 passengers, 99 crew members and cargo. It will consume 40–50% less energy compared to modern liners. The batteries will be charged both in port and using solar panels and wind while sailing.
