Candela Launches New P-12 Voyager for Luxury Marine Travel
Swedish electric vessel manufacturer Candela has unveiled the P-12 Voyager, a new 12-passenger electric hydrofoil vessel designed for luxury transfers, hospitality operations and premium passenger services.
The P-12 Voyager becomes the flagship model of Candela’s P-12 platform and is aimed at routes where passenger comfort is just as important as travel time, including airport-to-resort connections, island transfers and exclusive coastal services.
The vessel uses Candela’s computer-controlled hydrofoil technology, which lifts the hull above the water surface instead of pushing through waves. The flight control system adjusts the foils up to 100 times per second, significantly reducing motion, vibrations and passenger discomfort.
According to Candela, the technology delivers a smoother and quieter travel experience compared to conventional high-speed boats.
The P-12 Voyager operates at speeds of up to 25 knots, while noise levels inside the cabin remain at just 63 dB. The climate-controlled interior features panoramic windows, comfortable seating, luggage storage areas, a refreshment station and an onboard restroom.
Thanks to its hydrofoil system, energy consumption is reduced by up to 80% compared with traditional vessels of similar size. The electric vessel offers a range of up to 40 nautical miles, while its batteries can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately one hour using a standard 150 kW dual CCS charging system.
The design also allows the vessel to berth at both low and high docks, reducing the need for specialized shore infrastructure.
The new Voyager joins Candela’s existing P-12 family:
- P-12 Shuttle – public transport version for up to 30 passengers;
- P-12 Business – premium transfer model for up to 20 passengers;
- P-12 Voyager – luxury-oriented version for resorts, hotels and exclusive passenger operations.
Designed in Sweden, the P-12 Voyager is currently in serial production at Candela’s factory in Stockholm. Customer deliveries are expected to begin by the end of 2026.
