The Philippine Coast Guard reported a collision between the ferry Maria Rebecca and the car carrier Antonia 1 at Jolo Port on November 4 amid unfavorable weather conditions. According to authorities, no injuries or environmental pollution were recorded.
The incident occurred at around 7:45 a.m. local time when Maria Rebecca, while attempting to berth, lost control and struck the bow section of Antonia 1, which was moored at the port.
The Philippine Coast Guard promptly responded to the scene and assisted both vessels, which were subsequently secured alongside.
Authorities will conduct a joint inspection and assessment to determine the extent of the damage sustained by both ships.
The ferry Maria Rebecca is operated by Montenegro Shipping Lines, while the car carrier Antonia 1 is owned by Aleson Shipping Lines.
