🚀US forces, on the night of March 16, attacked Houthi positions in Yemen in response to their attacks on ships in the Red Sea. The strikes were directed at military targets but resulted in civilian deaths and injuries
📍The operation was carried out by an aircraft carrier group led by the USS Harry S. Truman, supported by destroyers, a cruiser and the submarine USS Georgia
The actions were in response to the Houthis' statement on the blockade of shipping, including Israeli ships, in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. They promised to continue the attacks until humanitarian aid to Gaza is restored.
