Oceania Cruises, part of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, has taken delivery of its eighth premium-class cruise ship, Oceania Allura. The vessel was built at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Genoa, where the official handover ceremony took place. Allura is the second Allura-class vessel in the company’s fleet, following the launch of Oceania Vista in May 2023.
As part of its fleet renewal strategy, Oceania Cruises plans to welcome the new Oceania Sonata in summer 2027, which will inaugurate the next-generation Sonata-class ships. It will be followed by Oceania Arietta in 2029, with ships in this class accommodating around 1,300 passengers and featuring a gross tonnage of approximately 86,000 GT.
During the Allura handover ceremony, Oceania Cruises announced the confirmation of an option for two additional Sonata-class ships, scheduled for delivery in 2032 and 2035, expanding the fleet to meet growing demand for premium cruises.
Key specifications of Oceania Allura:
• Length: 246 meters
• Gross tonnage: over 68,000 GT
• Capacity: 1,200 passengers in spacious double-occupancy staterooms
• Two crew members for every three guests, ensuring a high level of personalized service.
In its inaugural cruise season, Allura will sail 26 itineraries across 92 destinations, including the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Canada, and New England. The maiden voyage is scheduled for July 18, 2025, departing from Trieste (Italy) to Athens (Greece).
