Next Geosolutions, a leading offshore energy contractor, has secured a new contract with Italian engineering company Saipem to carry out geophysical and subsea support operations for the Bouri Gas project in North Africa.
The contract, valued at approximately €8.5 million (US$9.8 million), will involve the deployment of two specialized vessels — NG Worker and NG Surveyor — to perform offshore monitoring, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) surveys, and construction support services for Saipem’s installation and pipeline works.
Operations are scheduled to begin in Q4 2025 and will continue for several months, with an option for extension depending on project requirements.
🌊 Bouri Gas Project Overview
The Bouri Gas Project is designed to enhance gas recovery and utilization from the Bouri field, located off the coast of Libya. The development includes the installation of a new gas export module and a series of upgrades to existing offshore infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and environmental performance.
In addition, Rana Subsea, a subsidiary recently acquired by Next Geosolutions, has also signed a separate contract with Saipem under the same project.
This agreement covers specialized subsea engineering and installation support services with a total value of €62.6 million (US$72.5 million), including options, and is set to run until Q2 2026.
“This collaboration further strengthens the long-standing partnership between Saipem and Next Geosolutions,” the company said, highlighting its growing role in offshore energy operations across the Mediterranean region.
