DeepOcean Expands Fleet with Boka Spearfish Charter Until 2026

DeepOcean Expands Fleet with Boka Spearfish Charter Until 2026
today at 09:47 5

Norwegian subsea contractor DeepOcean continues to strengthen its offshore capabilities after signing a charter agreement with Boskalis for the construction support vessel Boka Spearfish.

Built in 2014, the vessel will join DeepOcean’s fleet through the end of 2026, with an option for extension. Following a short mobilization period, it will be equipped with two work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) along with supporting subsea systems.

Previously known as Sea1 Spearfish, the vessel is already familiar with DeepOcean operations, having delivered reliable performance during earlier campaigns.

Boskalis added the vessel to its fleet in April 2025 after acquiring it from Sea1 Offshore as part of the company’s fleet renewal program.

This charter supports DeepOcean’s strategy to expand its construction support fleet, which now includes around 20 vessels, amid sustained demand for subsea services in offshore energy projects.

In addition, the company continues to secure long-term capacity. It previously signed a three-year agreement with Solstad Maritime for the Normand Ocean CSV, starting in Q1 2027, with extension options.
