A major energy project is set to begin off the coast of Taiwan: Boskalis and Allseas will build a $1.4 billion subsea gas pipeline for the state-owned CPC Corporation.
📍 The new 238 km-long pipeline will connect two LNG terminals located on Taiwan’s west and south coasts, forming a strategic energy corridor that will enhance the island’s energy security amid rising geopolitical tensions.
🔧 The project will feature the Pioneering Spirit, the world’s largest offshore construction vessel, known for its capacity to handle complex marine operations.
📅 Construction is set to begin in 2025, with completion expected by 2028.
This landmark project underscores Taiwan’s efforts to diversify its gas infrastructure and reduce dependence on external energy risks through advanced offshore engineering.
