ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S) has taken delivery of Al Sadaf, the fourth in a six-ship series of next-generation LNG carriers being built at Jiangnan Shipyard in China. The company said the 175,000 m³ vessel was delivered on 10 December 2025 and will immediately depart on its first commercial voyage.
According to ADNOC L&S, Al Sadaf is around 25% larger than the company’s legacy LNG carriers and is designed to reduce methane emissions by up to 50% versus earlier models. The ship is equipped with two new-generation dual-fuel main engines and other energy-efficiency features aimed at lowering fuel consumption and emissions.
The naming ceremony was attended by Capt. Abdulkareem Al Masabi (CEO, ADNOC L&S) and Fatema Al Nuaimi (CEO, ADNOC Gas), who served as the vessel’s “godmother.” Al Nuaimi also highlighted the ongoing Das Island LNG berth upgrade, which is intended to accommodate LNG carriers of up to 180,000 m³, improving export flexibility and shipping operations.
Industry reporting notes that this “LNG Jumbo” series features GTT Mark III Flex cargo containment and a partial reliquefaction setup as part of the efficiency package.
ADNOC L&S expects the remaining two sister vessels to be delivered in H1 2026; the broader Jiangnan newbuild program also includes nine VLECs and four VLACs.
