Wison New Energies of China and H2Carrier of Norway have announced a joint initiative to create a 500 MW green ammonia floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO). The vessel will be deployed in northern Norway to produce green ammonia.
Partner Roles
-
Wison will take on engineering, design, construction, and equipment integration, leveraging its EPCIC expertise and experience with floating production systems. This approach is expected to reduce time-to-market and mitigate project risks.
-
H2Carrier brings extensive know-how in floating green ammonia production, drawing on proven technologies from FPSOs and FLNG units to deliver affordable renewable energy to end-users.
Strategic Importance
According to Huan Yi, President of Wison New Energies Europe, “green ammonia and Power-to-X (P2X) technologies are considered strategic growth drivers, and our collaboration with H2Carrier underscores our commitment to this field."
H2Carrier CEO Mårten Lunde added that the project, based on the P2XFloater concept, will enable standardization and scalability — critical factors for efficient construction, integration, and project execution.
Expected Impact
This initiative will accelerate the rollout of future P2X projects while improving return on investment, supporting the global transition to green energy and reducing the carbon footprint of industrial operations.
