Dutch offshore contractor Van Oord is upgrading its fleet with two state-of-the-art rock installation vessels, ordered from the Yantai CIMC Raffles shipyard in China. The new vessels, designed to install large volumes of rock on the seabed, will each have a carrying capacity of up to 35,000 tons and will be equipped with hybrid propulsion systems running on methanol, biofuel, and electricity.
