UK P&I Club and TT Club have announced that they have begun talks regarding a potential merger of the two mutual insurance organisations.
The clubs have worked closely for many years through their shared manager, Thomas Miller. At meetings held in November, the boards of both clubs agreed to explore whether their long-standing relationship could be strengthened further through a possible combination. The discussions are at an early stage and are expected to continue over the coming months.
Ian Valkier, Chair of UK P&I Club, said that considering a merger with TT Club reflects the club’s strategic focus on building scale, diversifying, and delivering sustainable growth. He added that a merger could create a leading mutual insurer for the marine and transport sectors, offering an enhanced service proposition and improved financial resilience.
