TUI Cruises, the joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises, has reached a new milestone in sustainable shipping by unveiling its second LNG-powered cruise ship, Mein Schiff Flow, on May 30 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.
This 160,000-ton vessel was designed with sustainability at its core and can operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG), marine gas oil (MGO), and is also compatible with bio-LNG and e-LNG — in line with TUI Cruises’ commitment to climate-neutral operations.
Key environmental features include:
-
Euro 6-certified catalytic converters
-
A steam turbine that recovers waste heat from diesel generators
-
Shore power connectivity to reduce emissions during port stays
-
An advanced waste treatment system that thermally processes organic material into recyclable components
Mein Schiff Flow is scheduled to enter service in summer 2026. Its sister ship, Mein Schiff Relax, flying the Maltese flag, was delivered to TUI Cruises in February 2025.
