On 23 January, the general cargo ship Thanh Thanh Dat 45 ran aground at Cua Viet Port in Quang Tri province, Vietnam. All 11 crew members were safely rescued and brought ashore, with no injuries reported.
The incident occurred at around 06:30 local time as the vessel was sailing from Yanpu Port to Cua Viet to carry out cargo operations. The ship grounded roughly 550 meters north of the Cua Viet breakwater/dike. The entire crew was evacuated without incident.
Local authorities said the situation remains under monitoring and that plans are in place to tow the vessel back to port for inspection and repairs once weather conditions improve.
Thanh Thanh Dat 45 is a Vietnamese-flagged general cargo vessel built in 2008, measuring 79.6 meters in length and 12.82 meters in beam.
