Swiss-based Geoquip Marine, a specialist in acquiring geotechnical data for offshore projects, has announced the extension of its charter agreement for the research vessel Dina Polaris until 2030. The vessel was built in 2017 by Myklebusthaug and has been part of the company’s operational fleet since its delivery.
To date, Dina Polaris has been involved in more than 30 offshore projects worldwide, proving its reliability and efficiency under demanding conditions. The vessel is equipped with a dual derrick deepwater geotechnical drilling rig, capable of performing drilling, coring, sampling, and in-situ testing at depths of up to 2,500 meters.
It also features an advanced onboard soil laboratory, allowing for real-time soil classification and strength parameter assessment directly at sea. According to Geoquip Marine, Dina Polaris is among the most capable and efficient geotechnical drilling vessels in the world.
