The World’s Largest Car Carrier ANJI ANSHENG Sets Sail on Maiden Voyage
On May 15, SAIC Motor’s logistics subsidiary, Anji Logistics, officially named the world’s largest roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) car carrier, ANJI ANSHENG. The vessel, with a capacity of 9,500 cars, has set off on its first voyage from China to Europe, further solidifying the company’s position as a leader in automotive logistics.
With the addition of this ultra-large vessel, Anji Logistics’ fleet has grown to 35 owned car carriers, allowing the company to better support the rapid global expansion of Chinese automotive brands.
SAIC Motor has been actively investing in fleet expansion to eliminate bottlenecks in export logistics. Since it first began exporting passenger cars in 2001, the company has delivered over 5.5 million vehicles to overseas markets. By 2026, it plans to expand its ocean-going fleet for international trade to 22 vessels.
The ANJI ANSHENG has been designed with a focus on future sustainability, including the potential for a shift to greener fuels, aligning with SAIC’s strategy to reduce its carbon footprint.
