The fishing vessel Ty Noem sank in the port of Erquy in Côtes-d’Armor, northwestern France, on the morning of October 11.

The vessel was at anchor when water began entering the hull, eventually causing Ty Noem to sink inside the harbour.

No one was aboard at the time of the incident. Authorities were alerted after the vessel’s emergency position-indicating radio beacon, or EPIRB, was automatically activated.

Local emergency services responded to the incident, with firefighters deploying divers to inspect the sunken vessel and assess its condition.

No fuel spill or other pollution was reported.

The following day, divers began an operation to recover Ty Noem from the seabed.

The vessel was successfully raised and towed to Le Légué, where it is expected to undergo inspection and repairs.

Ty Noem is registered under MMSI 227579040.

The incident resulted in no injuries and, according to available information, no environmental pollution. The cause of the water ingress remains to be determined.
