Fire on Grande Argentina Extinguished in Hamburg Port
On September 15, a fire incident occurred at the Oswaldkai terminal in Hamburg Port involving the Grande Argentina, a Malta-flagged vessel. At around 17:30 local time, a truck caught fire on one of the decks, producing heavy smoke.
The crew responded immediately, using two fire hoses to contain the flames and prevent the blaze from spreading further. As a precaution, more than 40 firefighters arrived on the scene, inspected the vessel for remaining hotspots, and confirmed there was no further risk.
According to initial reports, no injuries or significant material damage have been reported. An investigation is expected to determine the cause of the fire.
The Grande Argentina is a Ro-Ro vessel with a gross tonnage of 56,660, built in 2001. The ship is 213.88 meters long and 32.25 meters wide.
