🫢Floating power plants, which were supposed to provide Odessa region with generation, will not come to Odessa – the deal collapsed due to the lack of security guarantees and the excessively high cost of the lease
Two ships of the Turkish company Karpowership were supposed to moor in the ports of Odessa region and from December 1, 2024 they would start supplying electricity to our region.
The Turks demanded that in case of threat the ships could go to the open sea, which would mean that the captains could stop generation at any moment, leaving us without the necessary capacity.
But the main problem is the cost of the lease of $250 million per year, which made electricity the most expensive in the system.
