The official launching ceremony of the new cruise ship Disney Adventure took place at the Meyer Wismar shipyard in the German city of Wismar. The vessel is being built for Disney Cruise Line, as announced by the company on its social media platforms.
Following the launch, the ship will be completed at the shipyard’s dock. Disney Adventure is one of the largest ships in Disney’s fleet, measuring 342 meters in length and over 70 meters in height. It is designed to accommodate 6,000 passengers and 2,300 crew members.
After completion and outfitting in the summer of 2025, the vessel will undergo sea trials in the Baltic Sea. The maiden voyage is scheduled for December 15, 2025, departing from Singapore, with planned itineraries of 3-, 4-, and 5-day cruises across Asian destinations.
Originally, the ship was intended for the Asian company Genting Group under the name Global Dream. However, the project was later acquired by Disney Cruise Line, which completed the construction. The entire development process took 6.5 years.
