❗️Continued surge in robbery incidents in Singapore Strait
In an incident alert, the ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ISC) highlighted that there were 11 robbery incidents on board vessels in the eastern lane of the Singapore Strait Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) between January 1 and February 3 this year
According to ReCAAP, all 11 incidents occurred in close proximity to each other off the islands of Pulau Kula and Helen Mar Reef in Phillips Strait, and engine parts were stolen in seven cases. In four cases, the robbers had weapons or what appeared to be weapons, and in five boarding incidents, knives were used
