The container ship Kappa, with a length of 148 meters, ran aground near Yenikoy in the Bosphorus while en route from Russia to Kocaeli.
A pilot was onboard at the time of the incident.
In response, tugboats Kurtarma-5 and Kurtarma-6 were dispatched, along with a diving team and the fast rescue vessel Kegm-5.
At this stage, no details have been released regarding the condition of the vessel, its cargo, or the impact on traffic through the strait.
There is also no confirmed information about damage or the start of refloating operations.
