Dutch company Fugro has been awarded a contract to carry out geotechnical surveys for the FengMiao II offshore wind farm with a capacity of 600 MW, developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
The project is part of Taiwan’s plan to reach 13.1 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
Operations will be conducted off Taiwan’s west coast using the Taiwan-flagged vessel Pacific Hornbill, equipped with a C30 offshore drilling rig.
The vessel is also fitted with Fugro’s advanced technologies, including WISON MkV EcoDrive for in-situ testing and sampling, and the SEACALF MkV Deep Drive system for high-quality geotechnical data acquisition.
These systems enable detailed investigations of both seabed and subsurface conditions throughout the project.
Completion of the geotechnical fieldwork is expected in the third quarter of 2026.
