Edda Wind, an owner and operator of vessels serving the offshore wind sector, has signed agreements for the potential sale of its entire fleet of service operation vessels (SOVs) and commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs), including units currently under construction.
According to a stock exchange filing by Wilh. Wilhelmsen, the fleet would be divided between two buyers: UK-based North Star (a Partners Group portfolio company) and an affiliated entity of Navigare Capital Partners. Completion of the transaction is subject to due diligence and other customary closing conditions.
Edda Wind has focused exclusively on specialized SOV and CSOV tonnage for offshore wind since 2015. The company currently owns and operates seven vessels (one SOV and six CSOVs), with three additional CSOVs under construction.
Edda Wind was taken private in June 2025 by a consortium including John Fredriksen’s Geveran Trading, Idan Ofer’s EPS Ventures, and Wilhelmsen New Energy.
The potential fleet sale follows a December transaction in which Danish operator Esvagt acquired two 2022-built purpose-designed vessels from Edda Wind — Breeze Enabler and Brint Enabler. If the new deal is completed, it would mark Edda Wind’s full exit from vessel ownership.
