Belgian engineering group DEME has completed the acquisition of Norwegian offshore wind contractor Havfram in a deal valued at approximately €900 million.
Originally announced on April 9, 2025, the transaction involves DEME Offshore Holding NV acquiring full ownership of Havfram Wind Holdco AS from its previous shareholders, Sandbrook Capital and PSP Investments.
Havfram specializes in transport and installation services for the offshore wind industry. The company is currently constructing two state-of-the-art vessels for next-generation wind turbine installation, with deliveries scheduled for Q4 2025 and early 2026. Contracts for their deployment are already secured for the second half of 2026.
The Norwegian company has a project backlog valued at around €600 million, which includes major offshore wind farm developments planned between 2026 and 2030.
Under its new ownership, the Havfram team will be integrated into DEME’s offshore energy division, while continuing operations from its Oslo headquarters. DEME has assured Havfram’s existing clients that there will be no disruptions to ongoing project schedules.
Publicly listed on Euronext Brussels, DEME reported a turnover of €4.1 billion and EBITDA of €764 million in 2024. The company employs over 5,800 specialists and operates across multiple sectors, including offshore energy, environmental remediation, dredging, and marine infrastructure.
