Cadeler takes delivery of Wind Mover: 10th vessel in the fleet and up to €75m in European contracts

Copenhagen-based Cadeler has taken delivery of Wind Mover, the 10th vessel in its growing fleet of next-generation wind turbine installation vessels—marking another milestone in the company’s rapid expansion in the offshore wind sector.

The vessel arrived ahead of schedule from Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in South Korea and is set to begin work in Europe immediately, where Cadeler has already secured contracts worth up to €75 million. Wind Mover is the second unit in Cadeler’s M-class series, following the delivery of Wind Maker earlier this year.

The handover caps a standout period for the Danish offshore wind installation specialist, which doubled its fleet from five to ten vessels in just 12 months. Cadeler says it is on track to operate 12 vessels by mid-2027, positioning the company to run one of the industry’s largest turbine installation fleets. CEO Mikkel Gleerup said the early delivery of Wind Mover supports Cadeler’s long-term strategy to operate the most modern and versatile fleet for increasingly complex offshore wind projects worldwide.

Technically, Wind Mover is equipped with a 2,600-tonne main crane and DP2 dynamic positioning, enabling operations in water depths of up to 65 meters. Its specifications are designed to support the installation and maintenance of the largest turbines entering the market as offshore wind projects continue to scale up and move into deeper waters.

Cadeler added that the vessel was built on budget and delivered strong safety performance throughout construction. The design was developed in collaboration with several leading marine engineering and technology providers, including Hanwha Ocean, ABB, Kongsberg, GustoMSC, and Huisman. After delivery, Wind Mover will move straight into previously agreed operations and maintenance work in European waters for undisclosed clients, covering the period from the vessel’s arrival in Europe until its next scheduled installation campaign.

Cadeler’s fast fleet expansion reflects growing demand for specialized installation vessels as offshore wind farms become larger and shift into deeper waters. In 2025 alone, the company took delivery of five new vessels, strengthening its market position during a period of significant industry growth.
