Akastor Sells DDW Offshore’s Last Vessel for $21.6 Million

Akastor Sells DDW Offshore’s Last Vessel for $21.6 Million
today at 13:00 13

Norwegian oil services investment company Akastor has completed the sale of Skandi Peregrino for $21.6 million, ending the vessel-owning operations of its subsidiary DDW Offshore.

DDW Offshore received the proceeds from the transaction and no longer owns any vessels.

Skandi Peregrino was acquired by Norwegian company Anchor Australia, which is set to be integrated into the rapidly expanding AHTS platform backed by 2020 Bulkers.

The vessel was delivered to its new owner on October 2, clearing the way for the next stage of the transaction — the acquisition of Anchor Australia by AHTS AS.

According to 2020 Bulkers, completion of the deal is expected on October 5. Anchor Australia’s sellers are due to receive approximately 55.7 million shares as consideration, subject to adjustments at closing.

Following the completion of the remaining planned acquisitions, the combined AHTS platform is expected to control a fleet of 15 vessels. Skandi Peregrino will therefore become part of a substantially larger consolidated fleet.

The sale follows Akastor’s unsuccessful first attempt to dispose of the vessel. In March 2025, DDW Offshore agreed to sell it for $25 million, but the transaction was cancelled after the charterer declined to approve the transfer of the existing contract to the new owner.

DDW Offshore subsequently began gradually reducing its AHTS fleet.

In January, the company sold Skandi Atlantic for $22.75 million, with approximately $8 million of the proceeds used to reduce debt.

Another vessel, Skandi Emerald, was sold for $23 million in June. The disposal of Skandi Peregrino completes DDW Offshore’s exit from the vessel-owning business.
