What is a BOSIET certificate and why is it needed? 🛟
BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) is a basic safety certificate for work on marine and oil and gas facilities. It confirms preparation for actions in emergency situations, including evacuation, survival on water and use of rescue equipment.
❔What types of BOSIET are there?
📍BOSIET with EBS (Emergency Breathing System) - standard version with training in the use of the emergency breathing system;
📍BOSIET with CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System) - includes training in the use of compressed air systems required on modern ships and platforms;
📍T-BOSIET (Tropical BOSIET) - version for work in tropical areas, without training for actions in cold conditions.
Where is BOSIET needed?
The certificate is mandatory for those units that have a helicopter landing pad: drilling rigs, platform vessels, cable layers, FPSO and other vessels. However, some companies request this certificate even without such pads.
💰Course cost: ≈800-1200$, depending on the region and center;
⚠️It is not possible to obtain BOSIET remotely - training and practical preparation are mandatory.
