Turkey’s Directorate General of Maritime Affairs reported that two bulk carriers collided in Bartın Port on March 1.

According to preliminary information, the Vanuatu-flagged bulk carrier North Moon experienced an engine failure while berthing, lost maneuverability, and struck the Comoros-flagged vessel Gold Lucky, which was anchored in the port area at the time.

No fatalities or injuries have been reported. However, both vessels sustained material damage.

The Bartın Port Authority has launched an investigation and is reviewing all details surrounding the incident.
