New Irish Company Launches to Support Offshore Wind Sector
A new engineering and commercial advisory company, Insight Marine, has officially launched in County Wicklow, Ireland, aiming to support the rapidly growing offshore wind and marine infrastructure industries.
The company will provide specialist services for offshore wind developments, subsea transmission and cable projects, ports and harbours, marine civil infrastructure, environmental advisory and decommissioning activities.
Insight Marine was founded by Paul Doherty, an industry professional with more than 20 years of experience in offshore wind, subsea cable installation and port redevelopment. Doherty previously founded engineering consultancy GDG, which was acquired by Venterra Group in 2021.
According to the company, its technical expertise includes:
- Offshore foundation analysis;
- Subsea cable assessments;
- Marine infrastructure evaluation;
- Finite element modelling;
- Design support for offshore and coastal assets;
- Environmental and regulatory consulting.
The launch comes at a time when Europe continues to expand its offshore renewable energy sector, creating increasing demand for specialised engineering and consulting services. Ireland itself is accelerating investments in offshore wind as part of its long-term energy transition strategy.
Insight Marine has already secured several initial assignments related to port infrastructure, marine technology, offshore decommissioning and forensic engineering services.
