🚢🔥 Incident Aboard Ferry Splendid in Genoa: Fire Contained, No Injuries
On the evening of June 3, at approximately 9:00 PM local time, a fire broke out aboard the Splendid passenger ferry while it was docked in the port of Genoa, Italy. The fire originated in one of the onboard generators. The ship’s operator noticed smoke and promptly initiated a manual shutdown of the affected generator. As a precaution, both passengers and crew were evacuated.
