Ocean Installer has secured a contract from Vår Energi for accelerated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) for the Balder Phase VI project in the North Sea.
Balder Phase VI is part of Vår Energi’s strategy to develop the Balder hub, centered around the Jotun FPSO platform, where oil production commenced on June 23. First oil from this phase is expected by the end of 2026.
Under this contract, Ocean Installer will perform subsea engineering, as well as the fabrication and installation of flexible production pipelines and umbilicals to enable subsea tieback to the Jotun FPSO. This project continues the long-standing collaboration between Vår Energi and Ocean Installer in the Balder area, where Ocean Installer has been active since 2019.
The contract was awarded under the strategic partnership agreement signed between the companies in June 2022 and reaffirms their commitment to efficient subsea infrastructure development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
