✅American all-electric “sea glider” manufacturer REGENT Craft has entered into an agreement to supply its Monarch electric sea glider to United Marine Egypt (UME) Shipping.
✅The deal builds on UME’s previous order for twelve-seat Viceroy sea gliders, which is said to reflect “growing demand for sea glider transportation solutions in the region.”
✅Sea gliders combine the high speed of aircraft with the performance of ships. This all-electric craft is a winged hydrofoil that operates in constant near-surface effect mode, while providing increased aerodynamic efficiency, allowing it to travel long distances on a single charge.
✅According to REGENT, the Monarch marine glider will be able to travel up to 400 miles (650 km) at 140 mph (225 km/h), carrying 50-100 passengers or 22,000 pounds (10,000 kg) of cargo.
