The cargo ship MSC Baltic III lost power and ran aground off the coast of Newfoundland on Saturday morning (local time), prompting an emergency evacuation. The ship, en route from Montreal to Corner Brook, sent out a distress call after an engine failed 12 nautical miles off the Bay of Islands. Unable to anchor due to bad weather, it ran aground at Wild Cove.
According to the Canadian Coast Guard, all 20 crew members were safely ferried by Cormorant helicopter. The icebreaker Henry Larsen is on scene as officials investigate the incident.
But what a view from the captain's cabin. Mountains. 😁
