Molgas Energy Group Completes Full Acquisition of Titan Clean Fuels, Strengthening Its Position in the Clean Marine Fuel Sector

Molgas Energy Group (Molgas), supported by InfraVia Capital Partners, has announced the completion of its full acquisition of Titan Energy Holding, the parent company of Titan Clean Fuels (Titan). The deal follows Molgas’s earlier purchase of a 45% minority stake and marks a major step in the Group’s strategic expansion within the clean marine fuel sector.

Titan is a leading independent supplier of LNG and Bio-LNG (liquefied biomethane) for the maritime and industrial sectors. The company operates a fleet of small-scale LNG bunker vessels across key global markets, with a strong presence in North-West Europe. Following the integration, Titan’s LNG bunkering operations will merge with Molgas’s existing activities in Norway, including truck-to-ship and ship-to-ship services throughout continental Europe.

The combined company now operates a fleet of seven LNG bunker vessels and manages an extensive network of over 70 refueling stations with more than 200 sales points, including partner stations. This integration positions Molgas as a European leader in LNG and Bio-LNG supply for the marine, industrial, and transport sectors.

The acquisition comes at a time of growing demand for low-carbon fuels. LNG and Bio-LNG are increasingly recognized as scalable and viable solutions for decarbonizing both shipping and heavy road transport. With tightening regulations such as EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime, Molgas and Titan are well positioned to support the shift toward cleaner mobility and logistics across Europe.

Niels den Nijs, former CEO of Titan, has been appointed Executive Vice President for Marine Operations at Molgas. He will oversee all maritime activities, providing comprehensive ship-to-ship and truck-to-ship bunkering services across Europe.

Sofoklis Papanikolaou, CEO of Molgas Energy Group, commented:
“Niels and the Titan team were true pioneers in clean fuel innovation. We are delighted to join forces and expand our capabilities to build a robust platform for delivering LNG and Bio-LNG solutions across Europe and beyond.”

Niels den Nijs, CEO of Titan, added:
“Our partnership with Molgas has always been strategically strong. By fully joining forces, we strengthen our balance sheet and commercial reach, enabling us to scale up our clean fuel solutions for the maritime sector amid rising demand and supportive regulation.”

Athanasios Zoulovits, Partner at InfraVia Capital Partners, stated:
“In a time of major transformation within the maritime industry, Titan’s expertise positions Molgas as a leading provider of scalable clean fuel solutions. We’re proud to support Molgas in accelerating the energy transition across industrial, mobility, and marine sectors.”

Jochum Brinksma, Chairman of Titan’s Board, concluded:
“It has been exciting to witness Titan’s rapid growth. This step gives the company global strategic reach and the scale needed to lead the transition toward alternative marine fuels.”

Titan Clean Fuels remains committed to supplying a wide range of alternative fuels — including LNG, Bio-LNG, and e-methane — and continues working with shipowners and operators to develop flexible, safe, and cost-efficient fuel supply programs that help decarbonize shipping today.
