Langh Ship Expands Fleet with New Container Vessel Martta
On September 12, Finnish shipping company Langh Ship officially took delivery of its new feeder container vessel Martta at the PaxOcean Zhoushan shipyard in Zhoushan, China. The vessel is the third and final unit in a series of eco-friendly container ships, following the earlier deliveries of Ingrid and Lene.
Designed to improve cargo handling efficiency, Martta features:
-
hatch covers that open in three sections across the full beam of the ship, ensuring better access to cargo holds even when deck areas are fully loaded;
-
holds equipped with adjustable cell guides, allowing flexible stowage of containers ranging from 40 to 45 feet.
In line with Langh Ship’s commitment to sustainability, the vessel is equipped with a Langh Tech hybrid scrubber to reduce harmful emissions and is prepared for the installation of an onboard carbon capture system. Together, these technologies are expected to cut CO₂ emissions by up to 50%, significantly enhancing the vessel’s environmental performance.
