Tugboat Locar LH XXIV refloated after grounding off Brazil
On August 21, the 32-meter tug Locar LH XXIV, with a deadweight of 421 tons, ran aground in the South Atlantic near Maria da Rosa beach (Brazil).
Several attempts were made to free the vessel: two tugboats tried to tow the Locar LH XXIV, but the towing line snapped during the operation.
It was only on August 24, during high tide, that the tug was finally refloated and pulled free. No injuries were reported, and further details of the incident have not been disclosed.
