​My name is Andriy Taran and I am a marine engineer.
I started my career in 2008 as an oiler in the Merchant Fleet. After three contracts on the
different dry cargo vessels I was given an offer to transfer to the Offshore. I wanted to try
myself in this industry and accepted the offer. So, I started as an oiler in Glomar Offshore
company on ERRV vessels in 2011.
In 2013 I got an offer from McDermott to work on their Cable Lay vessel. It was a good
opportunity for me to improve my skills and to work in good company. I worked on CLSV
North Ocean 102 since 2013 to 2015. In 2015 I had to return to Glomar Offshore due to
reorganization of McDermott’s HR department. In 2017 I graduated from the Kiev State
Academy of Sea Transport and got my Third Engineers license.
It gave the Glomar BV opportunity to promote me to the third Engineers position on the
Glomar Wave ROV Support Vessel. Since 2017 till now I worked on different offshore DP2
vessels including Cable Layer with different types of engines in the position of third
engineer.
In 2022 I graduated from the Odessa International
Academy of Sea Transport and got my Second Engineers license.
I have good experience to work in mixed crews, so I have good communication skills. I am
responsible, experienced, and well-motivated engineer with good computer skills. I have
only good references from my previous employers. I’m looking for the new opportunities and
I believe I can be useful part of any Engine Room Team.
